Job Overview

Caprock Academy is in search of a dedicated Educational Assistant for the upcoming academic year. As a public, tuition-free institution chartered by the Colorado Charter School Institute, we are committed to delivering a classically oriented educational experience.

Role of the Educational Assistant: Educational assistants are vital classroom professionals at Caprock Academy, enhancing the educational program's delivery. Successful candidates will collaborate closely with classroom instructors to effectively integrate various subjects and methodologies into the teachers' instructional plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students consistently under faculty guidance.
  • Participate in a rotating schedule for playground supervision during designated times.
  • Assist teachers with student drop-off and pick-up duties.
  • Facilitate the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Maintain attendance records.
  • Organize and file paperwork and take-home folders as necessary.
  • Collect homework from students who are absent.
  • Support faculty in teaching activities, including physical education and small group instruction.
  • Assist in escorting students to special classes.
  • Manage mail collection from office mailboxes.
  • Help maintain accurate records for lunch orders and field trips.
  • Grade student assignments and update records as required.
  • Escort students to the office when needed.
  • Check planners and reading logs for completion.
  • Ensure the classroom remains clean and organized.
  • Support the implementation of student plans with fidelity.
  • Enforce school policies consistently.
  • Create necessary documents using software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Apply feedback from supervisors for continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed about relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to manage schedules efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with students is advantageous.
  • Commitment to promoting the school's mission and values.
  • Proven classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers.
  • Integrity and sound judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn curriculum content at grade level.
