EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AIDE (SEASONAL)

COMPENSATION: $17.50 PER HOUR

Position Overview:

As a Childcare Support Specialist at the City of Grand Junction's Child Care Facility, you will play a vital role in nurturing and educating young children. This position requires a committed and imaginative individual who is passionate about early childhood education. Under the guidance of the Child Care Facility Director and Early Childhood Education Teacher, you will oversee the classroom environment, ensuring compliance with childcare standards and regulations. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the development and execution of daily lesson plans, maintaining a safe and engaging atmosphere for children, and fostering communication with parents and staff to enhance children's learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing age-appropriate curricula for children aged six weeks to six years, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and facility, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
  • Enforce compliance with all relevant laws and safety regulations pertaining to early childhood education.
  • Communicate openly with Early Childhood Education Teachers, parents, and caregivers to address any concerns regarding children's development.
  • Act as a liaison among teachers, staff, and families, participating in training and meetings as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to the childcare facility and program effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the childcare program.


Qualifications:
This position is classified as safety-sensitive, requiring adherence to random drug screening protocols.

Desired Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
