Position Overview

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is in search of a Healthcare Support Specialist who will play a vital role in assisting healthcare professionals in the examination and treatment of patients. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care in a supportive environment.


Compensation: $27/hr
Work Setting: Vaccination Clinic - Part Time
Location: Various regions
Hours: 8-20 hours per week
Additional Notes: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient interviews and record vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient assessments.
  • Ensure patient comfort by draping appropriately and positioning instruments and equipment.
  • Assist physicians by providing necessary instruments and materials during procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments.
  • Manage inventory and order medical supplies as needed.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment such as x-ray and electrocardiograph (EKG) for routine tests.
  • Administer injections, treatments, and perform basic laboratory tests.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage billing processes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and perform clerical duties as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the healthcare team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly over the phone.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.
  • Understanding of clerical functions in a healthcare setting.
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable).
  • Recent PPD or Chest X-Ray (if applicable).
  • Health Certificate (if applicable).
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification is preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses as applicable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
