Overview of the Role

The Supply Chain Specialist (SCS) plays a crucial role in the operational efficiency of the Michigan Institute of Urology, P.C. This position is pivotal in overseeing the procurement and distribution of goods, ensuring that all purchase orders are processed and delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key point of contact between vendors and internal departments to guarantee timely order fulfillment.
  • Manage the assignment of purchase order numbers and oversee the resolution of any disputes related to pricing or delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures while providing necessary training and communication to buyers.
  • Identify and eliminate wasteful practices to enhance the procurement process.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to maintain efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Foster strong relationships with various departments, including Administration, Finance, and Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Propose enhancements to purchasing methods and suggest improvements for internal systems.
  • Provide insights to the department Director regarding potential procedural or policy adjustments to improve logistics efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate stockpile management, including staging shipments and maintaining accurate documentation for inventory.
  • Oversee product allocation and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Preferred certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent training.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and its advanced features.
  • Understanding of accounting principles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with database management systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with confidentiality regulations.

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of four years in an administrative or clerical role, with at least two years in a supply chain capacity preferred.
