Position Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Supply Chain Director, the Supply Chain Specialist (SCS) plays a pivotal role in facilitating the procurement and delivery of goods, ensuring the efficient placement and management of purchase orders. The SCS is tasked with overseeing logistics operations, maintaining compliance with established policies, and managing various aspects of supply chain functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a liaison between vendors and internal departments to guarantee timely order fulfillment.
  • Manage the assignment of purchase order numbers.
  • Investigate and resolve disputes with vendors regarding pricing and delivery issues.
  • Ensure compliance with IOS reporting, including effective communication with buyers and training initiatives.
  • Identify and eliminate wasteful practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to optimize key processes for cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster strong relationships with departments such as Administration, Finance, and Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Propose enhancements to purchasing methods and IOS functionalities.
  • Advise the department Director on procedural or policy improvements to boost logistics performance and cost savings.
  • Coordinate stockpile management, including staging shipments and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Oversee product allocation processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned related to the position.

CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

  • Preferred: Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent training.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Pivot Tables.
  • Basic accounting knowledge is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with database management systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • Adhere to all organizational health and safety protocols.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 4 years in an administrative or clerical role, with at least 2 years in a supply chain capacity preferred.
