Overview of the Role

The Supply Chain Specialist (SCS) plays a crucial role in the operational framework of the Michigan Institute of Urology, P.C. This position is pivotal in managing the procurement and distribution of goods, ensuring that all purchase orders are processed efficiently.

Work Schedule

This position offers a standard workweek of Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours, with no evening or weekend shifts required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between vendors and internal departments to guarantee timely delivery of orders.
  • Manage the assignment of purchase order numbers and oversee the resolution of any disputes with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with internal reporting standards and provide training on procurement processes.
  • Identify and eliminate wasteful practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to optimize key processes for cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster strong relationships with various departments, including Administration and Finance.
  • Suggest improvements for purchasing strategies and internal operational systems.
  • Provide insights to the department Director regarding procedural enhancements for logistics and cost management.
  • Coordinate inventory management tasks, including documentation and product allocation.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Preferred certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and its advanced features.
  • Understanding of accounting principles is advantageous.
  • Experience with database management systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality standards.

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of four years in an administrative or clerical role, with at least two years in a supply chain capacity preferred.
