Position Overview

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the camp facilities and buildings. This position is responsible for upholding high standards of hygiene and orderliness across all designated housekeeping areas.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and procure additional items as necessary.
  2. Conduct regular inspections to ensure that the Housekeeping Team adheres to the cleanliness standards of the camp.
  3. Coordinate with linen services to guarantee that all linens are prepared for incoming guest groups.
  4. Prepare guest accommodations for visiting staff or guests, which includes:
    1. Washing linens.
    2. Making beds.
    3. Providing towels.
    4. Cleaning bathrooms thoroughly.
    5. Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming kitchen, living, and sleeping areas.
    6. Cleaning the front entry area.
    7. Emptying trash receptacles both indoors and outdoors.
  5. Check in with guests each morning post-breakfast to inquire about any needs, such as trash removal, bathroom cleaning, or replenishment of linens and supplies.
  6. Dispose of trash from guest housing and communal areas daily.
  7. Prepare guest facilities for subsequent use after guests check out.
  8. Keep the laundry area organized and tidy.
  9. Report any misuse of laundry facilities to the Camp Director.
  10. Ensure proper disposal of garbage in designated bins.
  11. Maintain cleanliness in the mop area, trash area, and laundry room.
  12. Assist in the overall cleanup of the camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer season.
  13. Support the Camp Director with additional tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must be capable of performing essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. Ability to engage in various physical activities, including sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting.
  2. Capability to grasp, push, and pull objects and tools effectively.
  3. Ability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
