PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Housekeeping Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the camp and its facilities. This position is dedicated to upholding high standards of sanitation and order in all designated housekeeping areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and reorder as necessary.
  2. Inspect facilities to ensure the Housekeeping Team meets the cleanliness standards set for the camp.
  3. Coordinate with linen services to guarantee linens are prepared for each group of guests.
  4. Prepare guest accommodations for incoming staff or visitors, which includes:
    1. Washing linens.
    2. Making beds.
    3. Providing towels.
    4. Cleaning bathrooms.
    5. Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming kitchen, living, and sleeping areas.
    6. Cleaning the front entry.
    7. Emptying trash receptacles both indoors and outdoors.
  5. Check in with guests each morning post-breakfast to address any needs, such as trash removal, bathroom cleaning, or replenishing linens and toiletries.
  6. Dispose of trash from guest accommodations and communal areas daily.
  7. After guests depart, ensure the facilities are cleaned and ready for future use.
  8. Keep the laundry area organized and tidy.
  9. Report any misuse of laundry facilities to the Camp Director.
  10. Transport garbage to designated disposal areas.
  11. Maintain cleanliness in the mop area, trash area, and laundry room.
  12. Assist in the overall cleanup of the camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer season.
  13. Support the Camp Director with additional tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

To excel in this role, candidates must be capable of performing essential duties with or without accommodations.
  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  2. Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects and tools.
  3. Ability to lift weights up to 40 lbs.
