Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Team Member to join our team at Camp Del Oro in Nevada City, CA. As a Housekeeping Team Member, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our camp facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance
    • Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of camp facilities, including cleaning, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces, floors, and equipment.
    • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and order additional supplies as needed.
    • Ensure all assigned housekeeping areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Guest Services
    • Prepare guest facilities for visiting staff or guests, including washing linens, making beds, and providing clean towels.
    • Visit guest housing each morning to ensure all needs are met, including trash removal, bathroom cleaning, and linen supply.
    • Empty trash cans inside and out, and take garbage to designated bins.
  • Laundry and Cleaning
    • Keep the laundry room clean and free from clutter.
    • Report misuse of laundry facilities to the Camp Director.
    • Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.
  • Other Duties
    • Assist the Camp Director with other duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Physical Abilities
    • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
    • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and tools.
    • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
    • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing procedures and protocols.
