Control Systems Specialist

The Control Systems Specialist role is essential for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair tasks across various facilities, focusing on a diverse array of electrical systems, process automation, and safety mechanisms.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee, maintain, and rectify automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Capable of conducting operations involving manlifts.
  • Address equipment failures and engage in Root Cause Failure Analysis to identify underlying issues.
  • Implement preventative maintenance as dictated by the work management framework, providing detailed feedback on completed tasks and findings.
  • Supervise contractor activities, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to assess maintenance program effectiveness and explore predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Encourage the adoption of innovative technologies to enhance facility reliability and availability.
  • Maintain and repair process control systems for gas and oil treatment and water injection facilities, including large electric-driven compressors, heater treaters, stabilizers, TEG dehydration units, water injection pumps, separation units, LACT skids, and product storage.
  • Experience with Emerson Delta V control systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas custody transfer metering and proving systems, including quality management.

Educational Requirements

  • Required: A high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in the oil and gas sector is essential.
  • Preference for candidates who are certified, licensed, or have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent training.
  • Familiarity with work management systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar platforms.
  • Proficient in mechanical systems and automation/instrumentation technologies.
  • Possession of a valid state motor vehicle license for operating mobile equipment.
  • Willingness to work a 12-hour day/night shift on a rotational schedule.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Capability to work in various physical positions and environments, including tight spaces and extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders to significant heights as required.
  • Commitment to assisting colleagues in the field when necessary.
  • Must successfully pass a fit-for-duty assessment.
