Control Systems Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to take on a leadership role within our organization. This position is ideal for a mid to senior-level professional with extensive experience in Instrumentation and Control systems (I&C).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical authority and client liaison for designated projects and engineering disciplines.
  • Supervise a small team of I&C engineers and designers, ensuring effective collaboration and project execution.
  • Engage in business development activities by fostering relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide expert technical guidance for capital and maintenance projects of varying sizes.
  • Develop project scopes, P&IDs, procurement specifications, and construction packages.
  • Conduct thorough vendor document reviews and integrate findings into project designs.
  • Establish and manage engineering budgets, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with project management and other technical teams to fulfill project requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide design teams in creating comprehensive work packages.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • 8-25 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas or related sectors.
  • Proficiency in developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and control systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment and control strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification in Control Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and DCS/PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform computer work for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 lbs and navigate industrial environments.
