Position Overview: Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to take on a pivotal role within our organization. This position involves leading a dedicated team of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) engineers and designers, ensuring the successful execution of various projects while maintaining high standards of technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical authority and client liaison for assigned projects.
  • Supervise a small team of engineers and designers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Develop and refine project scopes, plans, and deliverables throughout all phases.
  • Create and review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and procurement specifications.
  • Conduct thorough vendor document reviews, integrating findings into project designs.
  • Establish and manage engineering budgets, ensuring projects remain within financial constraints.
  • Generate Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimates and Material Take-Offs (MTO).
  • Collaborate with project management to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and vendors to enhance project outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • 8-25 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas or related sectors.
  • Proficiency in developing engineering and design budgets and schedules.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in team settings, whether in-person or remotely.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with INtools (SPI) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
  • Experience in front-end project development and basic DCS/PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of specialty instrumentation for rotating equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to perform computer work for extended periods.
  • Ability to navigate industrial environments, including climbing and lifting as necessary.
