Job Title: Service Writer

At Custom Truck One Source, we are seeking a highly skilled Service Writer to join our team. As a Service Writer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our rental repair facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Work Order process from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate completion of repairs.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to resolve customer conflicts and maintain exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with Shop and Field Technicians to ensure correct invoicing for internal and external customers.
  • Develop and maintain a safe working environment, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present estimates to customers, explaining warranty and service contract coverage.
  • Assist with scheduling work and issuing tasks to Service Technicians.
  • Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates, answering questions, and arranging towing and temporary transportation.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-sufficiency and a driven attitude.
  • General aptitude in working with common computer software (MS Office Suite, internet, etc.).
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing a positive service experience.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years' experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or related field.
  • Knowledge of aerial vehicles, equipment, and heavy & light duty trucks.
Working Conditions:

The job will be performed in an office environment with varying hours of work (8-10 hrs. per day) based on the needs of the company.

Physical Requirements:

The job requires working five days a week with 8-10 hours shifts, with some Saturdays as needed.
