Position Overview:
Title: Reimbursement Specialist I
Duration: 6 months
Compensation: $27.58/hr
Shift: 8am-5pm EST during training and post-training
Location: East Hanover, NJ
Role Summary:
The Reimbursement Specialist is tasked with delivering support and insights regarding insurance coverage for prescribed medications. This role involves accurately identifying patient insurance details and understanding any additional requirements through the use of reimbursement tools, while collaborating with payers and healthcare providers.
This position may also involve sharing relevant information with Patient Specialty Services teams, addressing coverage inquiries from clients, facilitating pre-authorizations for medical procedures, and providing details about co-payments.
Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with payors and providers regarding benefits coverage, as well as offering solutions in line with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance knowledge of Patient Support Services programs and payer coverage, expanding expertise over time.
- Utilize established protocols and technology to collect patient coverage information, including making phone calls to payers in a professional manner.
- Prepare accurate documentation and notifications; ensure proper escalation, tracking, and follow-up.
- Advance skills to navigate the payer landscape concerning Novartis programs.
- Propose innovative ideas to improve customer service efficiency and effectiveness to Team Leads.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma is required.
Work Requirements:
Ability to commute to the office as required by the hybrid model for occasional meetings or events.
Must reside within a specified distance from the designated site.
Home Office Requirements:
A quiet, dedicated workspace free from interruptions is necessary when working remotely.
Experience:
Required:
- Approximately 6 months of relevant reimbursement experience in healthcare, payers, or pharmaceuticals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience with data entry systems, fax machines, and computer software.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in documenting payer conversations efficiently.
- Computer literacy with email and video conferencing tools.
Preferred:
1 year of experience as a Reimbursement Specialist in a Customer Contact Center within the pharmaceuticals sector.
Therapeutic Area Experience:
No specific therapeutic area experience is required.
