We are currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will report directly to the President and be an integral part of the executive leadership team. This role involves overseeing the accounting, treasury, and control functions within a multi-divisional framework. The CFO will be responsible for comprehensive financial reporting, daily accounting operations, treasury management, budgeting, tax compliance, strategic planning, forecasting, insurance, and risk management. This position will also involve leading the accounting team while collaborating with operational and administrative leaders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for subsidiaries, providing detailed financial and operational insights to the Owner.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and essential financial metrics (such as margin analysis and COGS) to assess the ongoing health of the business.
  • Enhance existing internal controls, processes, and systems, and develop new policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Refine and maintain product costing methodologies, manage inventory (including cycle counts), and oversee operational accounting. Review product costing to determine if pricing adjustments are needed.
  • Develop and implement applicable accounting policies.
  • Support ERP system implementation to ensure streamlined and automated reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance variance analysis. Customize Board of Directors reports from the system.
  • Oversee all cash and treasury management activities, including nurturing existing and establishing new banking relationships and securing credit facilities when required.
  • Provide cash flow forecasts for ownership on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Generate flash reports and analyze results by customer, product, region, and country.
  • Direct all short- and long-term forecasting, operational and capital budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Evaluate economic, business, and financial conditions and their implications for the company.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage.
  • Prepare board packages and present a comprehensive financial and operational overview to the Board of Directors.
  • Act as a key advisor in establishing annual objectives and engage external audit, tax, and investment advisors.
  • Oversee fiduciary responsibilities related to retirement plans, acting in the best interest of plan participants, adhering to plan documents, diversifying investment options, and monitoring performance.
  • Support both domestic and international growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms for annual reviews and federal and state tax filings, ensuring timely filing of payroll and sales taxes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • CPA license is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing is essential; a background in public accounting is a plus.
  • Experience with standard and job cost accounting and inventory management is required.
  • International experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role (VP of Finance or CFO) is necessary.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Proven track record of strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with PLEX or similar manufacturing ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Prior experience reporting to an Owner or working in a family business is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is required.
