We are currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team, reporting directly to the President. This pivotal role involves overseeing the accounting, treasury, and control functions across multiple divisions, with a focus on comprehensive financial reporting, daily accounting operations, budgeting, tax management, strategic planning, forecasting, insurance, and risk management. The CFO will lead the accounting team while collaborating with operational and administrative leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for subsidiaries, delivering focused financial and operational insights to ownership.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess the ongoing health of the organization.
  • Enhance internal controls, processes, and systems, while creating new policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain and improve product costing methodologies and inventory management, ensuring pricing strategies are aligned with costs.
  • Implement and uphold accounting policies that align with industry standards.
  • Support the implementation of ERP systems to streamline reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Oversee cash and treasury management, fostering relationships with banking partners and securing credit facilities as needed.
  • Provide regular cash flow forecasts to ownership on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Generate analytical reports, evaluating results by customer, product, region, and country.
  • Direct short- and long-term forecasting, operating and capital budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Assess economic, business, and financial conditions and their implications for the company.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and proper insurance coverage.
  • Prepare comprehensive board packages and present financial and operational overviews to the Board of Directors.
  • Act as a key advisor in establishing annual objectives and engage with external audit, tax, and investment advisors.
  • Oversee fiduciary responsibilities related to retirement plans, ensuring compliance with plan documents and monitoring investment performance.
  • Support both domestic and international growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms for annual reviews and tax filings, ensuring compliance with payroll and sales tax regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • CPA license is highly desirable.
  • Manufacturing experience is essential, with a strong background in P&L management within an engineered products manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems in both make-to-order and distribution settings is crucial, along with robust cost accounting skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, team management, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Strong business acumen, a proactive approach, and a collaborative style are essential.
  • Familiarity with PLEX or similar manufacturing ERP systems is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a senior leadership role (VP of Finance or CFO) is necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Experience in a family-owned business or reporting to an owner is preferred.
