Position Summary:

We are looking for qualified candidates for the position of SYEP Site Monitor. Reporting to the Job Developer, the SYEP Site Monitor is integral to the success of both the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and the Work, Learn, and Grow Program (WLG). This role is essential in fostering a safe, welcoming, and supportive atmosphere for participants aged 16-21, acting as the main liaison between work site employers and participants.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Professional Conduct: Uphold a professional demeanor that reflects the esteemed standards of QCH and the programs represented.
  • Site Evaluations: Perform pre-assessments of work sites before participant placements to guarantee safety and appropriateness.
  • Participant Registration: Aid in the enrollment process for participants, including gathering necessary documentation.
  • Monitoring Work Sites: Conduct weekly visits to work sites to assess participant progress, ensure a safe and productive environment, and uphold employer satisfaction. Document these visits with written evaluations.
  • Time Sheet Oversight: Collect and verify weekly time sheets, evaluations, and job placement referrals from participants.
  • File Inspections: Execute comprehensive audits of participant and work site files to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Relationship Development: Cultivate strong, professional relationships with Work Site Supervisors and SYEP participants.
  • Problem Resolution: Assist in addressing any issues or concerns at work sites, escalating to the immediate supervisor when necessary.
  • Accuracy and Compliance: Rigorously check time sheets and documentation for accuracy and completeness, maintaining well-organized client records and program statistics.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Co-facilitate workshops as part of the educational aspect of the program.
  • Program Assistance: Support overall SYEP operations, including the preparation of close-out packages and audits.
  • Training Participation: Attend all job-related training sessions and workshops.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Customer Service Skills: Proven commitment to customer service, with the ability to foster productive relationships, resolve complex issues, and encourage loyalty.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding documentation; ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Communication Abilities: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of functioning effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Role Model: Ability to connect with young individuals and staff as a positive adult role model.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable taking initiative and working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Appreciation for and sensitivity to the cultural backgrounds, traditions, life experiences, sexual orientation, and gender identity of participants.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with various computer applications and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion.
  • Mobility: Capacity to travel between various worksites using public transportation.
  • Clearances: Must pass necessary background checks and screenings.

Additional Information:

  • Compensation: $18 per hour
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, with varying hours; weekend availability may be required.
