Job Overview

The Group Leader will be a dynamic and seasoned professional responsible for overseeing after-school educational sessions and enhancing the overall program experience. This role involves leading various activities, including academic support, creative arts, sports, wellness initiatives, and STEM learning.

Compensation: $17.50 per hour

Work Hours:
Monday to Thursday from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of all participants by providing attentive supervision during all program activities.
  • Lead and engage in recreational programs for youth and their families.
  • Create a secure and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants in the after-school initiative.
  • Develop and submit weekly lesson plans to the Program Director.
  • Assist in executing a range of age-appropriate and themed activities.
  • Provide academic support during homework sessions to foster student development.
  • Help in gathering and processing feedback from parents through surveys.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, professional staff, and other departments.
  • Maintain equipment and storage areas, ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Support program administration in keeping accurate records, including incident reports, attendance logs, and sign-in/out sheets.
  • Consult with the Program Director on complex or unfamiliar situations as they arise.
  • Actively engage in all training sessions, scheduled meetings, and special events.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Program Director regarding assigned tasks and future responsibilities.
  • Complete all job-related duties efficiently during scheduled hours.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • The ideal candidate should be a certified college student, responsible for implementing diverse activities for program participants.
