Job Overview

The Group Leader is a dynamic and seasoned professional responsible for overseeing after-school programs and enhancing the educational experience for participants. This role involves guiding various activities, including academic support, creative arts, physical fitness, and STEM initiatives.

Compensation: $17.50 per hour

Work Hours:
Monday to Thursday from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of all program participants through vigilant supervision.
  • Lead and engage in recreational activities designed for youth and families.
  • Create a secure and enjoyable atmosphere for all attendees of the After-School Program.
  • Develop and submit weekly lesson plans to the Program Director.
  • Assist in organizing a variety of age-appropriate and themed activities.
  • Provide academic support during homework sessions to foster student growth.
  • Help with the collection and analysis of feedback from parents.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments.
  • Maintain equipment and manage inventory effectively.
  • Support program administration in keeping accurate records, including incident reports and attendance logs.
  • Consult with the Program Director regarding challenging situations or unfamiliar scenarios.
  • Actively engage in training sessions, meetings, and special events.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Program Director for assigned tasks and future responsibilities.
  • Complete all job-related duties efficiently during scheduled hours.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • The ideal candidate should be a certified college student, responsible for implementing diverse activities for program participants.
