As a global leader in infrastructure consulting, we are currently seeking a Traffic Monitoring Center Lead/Specialist in Ocoee, Florida. This role is integral to the Florida's Turnpike Enterprise Traffic Management Center (TMC).

The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge in Freeway Operations and Control Room functionalities, demonstrating expertise through continuous improvement and operational certifications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead workflow coordination within the team.
  • Oversee roadway monitoring, ensuring timely detection and response to traffic events using Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
  • Act as an emergency dispatcher, coordinating with Road Rangers to assist motorists and manage incidents efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with management and project leads to provide operational updates and address needs within the control room.
  • Support the creation and upkeep of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Assist in developing presentations, technical documents, and research studies.
  • Represent the Transportation Management Center in various meetings.
  • Review operational activities for accuracy, providing guidance and mentorship to staff.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of supervisory personnel.
  • Contribute to after-action reports for significant incidents.
  • Engage in special projects and assignments as required.
  • Facilitate special event planning and execution.
  • Support recruitment and training processes for new employees.
  • Enhance community outreach and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide direction and support to TMC staff in their roles.
  • Monitor performance metrics to drive operational improvements.
  • Develop and refine training materials for staff development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in traffic monitoring or related fields.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources effectively.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screening as required.
  • Capability to maintain focus while monitoring various systems for extended periods.
  • Proficient in operating computers and monitoring technologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field; experience in traffic management or emergency services is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and communicate clearly.
  • Experience in mentoring and evaluating team members.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and audio/visual equipment.
