As a global leader in infrastructure consulting, we are seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Traffic Monitoring Center Lead/Specialist. This position plays a crucial role in the operations of the Traffic Management Center, focusing on freeway operations and control room activities.

Position Overview

The Traffic Monitoring Center Lead/Specialist will be responsible for overseeing various tasks related to traffic management and operational support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in freeway operations and possess a strong ability to coordinate workflows effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate under limited supervision, handling both straightforward and complex tasks.
  2. Lead workflow coordination and ensure efficient operations within the control room.
  3. Monitor traffic conditions, utilizing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to detect and respond to traffic events.
  4. Act as an emergency dispatcher, coordinating with Road Rangers to assist motorists and manage incidents.
  5. Communicate with management and project leads to provide updates and address operational needs.
  6. Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  7. Assist in creating presentations, technical documents, and reports.
  8. Represent the Traffic Management Center in internal and external meetings.
  9. Review operational activities for accuracy and provide mentorship to staff.
  10. Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of supervisory personnel.
  11. Contribute to after-action reports for significant incidents.
  12. Engage in special projects and assist with event planning.
  13. Support recruitment and training initiatives for new staff.
  14. Foster community outreach and engagement with stakeholders.
  15. Monitor performance metrics to drive operational improvements.
  16. Develop and update training resources.

Qualifications:

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in traffic monitoring or related fields.

+ Ability to synthesize information from diverse sources and respond effectively.

+ Successful completion of background checks and drug screening is required.

+ Capacity to maintain focus and operate monitoring equipment for extended periods.

+ Proficient in computer operations and use of monitoring technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

+ Leadership experience in traffic management or emergency services is highly desirable.

+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.

+ Proven ability to mentor and evaluate personnel.

+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and audio/visual technology.
