Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial closing process, responsible for executing journal entries, conducting in-depth analysis, troubleshooting accounting discrepancies, and recommending enhancements to internal controls and procedures.


Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in an accounting role.

Key Competencies:

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and record-keeping practices.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting simple instructions, brief correspondence, and memos.

- Capable of performing basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, with or without a calculator.

- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical scenarios.

- Competent in following detailed written or verbal instructions with common sense understanding.

- Skilled in addressing issues that involve a limited number of concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Proficient in computer usage, with a solid understanding of PC operations and software applications (processing, database, and spreadsheet).
- Strong typing skills are essential.

- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

- Demonstrates precision and thoroughness in work.

- Effective time management skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Generate Daily Census and Labor Reports for all facilities, ensuring report accuracy.

- Conduct account analysis and journal entries for various general ledger accounts.

- Analyze and maintain monthly schedules, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany allocations.

- Prepare bank reconciliations for all facilities.

- Compile and submit monthly sales and use tax reports.

- Maintain documentation for audit trails.

- Prepare and distribute monthly management reports to relevant personnel.

- Oversee the distribution of month-end Financial Statements.

- Assist with quarterly and annual external audits and the preparation of financial statements.

- Support monthly and year-end closing processes, adhering to corporate timelines.

- Perform additional duties as required.
