Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at Thomas Edwards Group. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our business, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and investigate variances in labor and overhead costs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Calculate pricing for new and existing products, taking into account labor and overhead rates.
  • Provide meaningful reports to operations teams based on actual performance data.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform month-end closing, post journal entries, and prepare GL reconciliations as needed.
  • Serve as a backup for AR, AP, and payroll processing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting, with 2 years in cost accounting/manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and PC spreadsheet software.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, use keyboard and calculator, and lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
