Program Overview:

The Resource and Recovery Center (RRC) is a pioneering initiative that offers accessible services and support for the most at-risk individuals in our community. The RRC is dedicated to fostering various wellness pathways grounded in empathy, equity, and inclusion, while being trauma-informed and culturally sensitive. It provides a secure, non-judgmental environment aimed at cultivating trust, meaningful connections, and collaboration.

Services offered by the RRC may encompass - Access to essential needs; Community Engagement; Screening and navigational assistance to link participants with physical, behavioral, and social service resources; Skills development, mindfulness practices, and stress management; Employment assistance, access to vocational training, education; Activities and groups focused on recovery, resilience building, and various forms of recovery capital.

Position Overview

The Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) plays a crucial role in building, nurturing, and developing relationships with clients within the recovery community. As a PRC, you will advocate for a recovery-oriented approach, recognizing that each individual's path to successful recovery is unique, with distinct challenges. PRCs respectfully encourage recovery guidance, support, and empowerment throughout a client's recovery journey.

Work Schedule:

  • Two Part-Time Positions available = 32 hours per week.
  • Two Relief Positions available = 24 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Key functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to all organizational policies and relevant procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate client logs, records, and reports in designated files and digital systems.
  • Meeting all Peer Recovery Coach program standards.
  • Promoting and supporting individual self-advocacy, ensuring that clients' voices and needs are prioritized.
  • Assisting clients in creating a personalized recovery pathway and identifying achievable goals, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Helping clients transition from a professionally managed service plan to a self-directed recovery plan.
  • Continuously developing community recovery resources and identifying additional support services that ensure a continuum of care for recovery clients.
  • Exhibiting effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Listening to clients' needs and facilitating a process of recovery, trust, engagement, treatment, and stabilization.
  • Submitting all necessary evaluations, records, reports, correspondence, and statistical information promptly to the Director or Supervising authority.
  • Participating in all required meetings.
  • Engaging as an on-call 24-7 Crisis Staff Duty Officer as per the rotation schedule.
  • Facilitating recovery groups.
  • Communicating emergencies, incidents, and/or unusual circumstances to the Director and/or corporate staff as appropriate.
  • Contributing to the development and participation in a comprehensive street outreach program in the community.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director.
  • Complying with all organizational policies and relevant procedures.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two letters of recommendation and/or professional references.
  • Experience in a full-time, part-time, or volunteer capacity within the last two years.
  • A minimum of two years of successful recovery experience is required.
  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach is required.
  • Willingness to undergo random toxicology screenings upon request.
  • Familiarity with personal computer (PC) operations, particularly Windows and Excel, is advantageous.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Clear or acceptable criminal history; acceptable history of substance use disorders.
  • Completion of a company-directed Defensive Driving Course is required.
