Job Title: IT Network Specialist

Entergy is seeking a highly skilled IT Network Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide planning, guidance, and direction for the analysis, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation of network operations for critical network components and systems.
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools, including Cisco Prime, DNAC, and automation tools.
  • Triage, resolve, and assign tickets for network support in the SNOW queue and via establishment of a single point for callouts.
  • Provide input and commentary to the development and revision of procedures and policies relevant to network operations.
  • Respond as Data Network representative in an on-call 24x7 rotation to resolve emergent issues in both Corporate and OT network environments.
  • Interact and coordinate with vendors, outsources, and contractors to support network products and services.
  • Participate in analysis of incident response policies, take an active role in network incident response and recovery, and identify performance issues in the network.
  • Provide Tier 1 technical support on network issues and technologies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that networking systems are monitored.
  • Participate in major incidents and technical troubleshooting activities.
  • Create and maintain technical network documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Coordinate, document, and participate in change management processes for network projects and activities.
  • Implement new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum Experience: IT Specialist II: 2 years of relevant experience; IT Specialist SR: 4 years of relevant experience, Network Associate (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA, etc.).
  • Critical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience in supporting network configurations and equipment, knowledge of network operations, knowledge of network monitoring tools, knowledge of incident and change management.
Location:

Entergy has multiple locations across Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The selected candidate will be required to work in one of these locations.
