Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner plays a crucial role in promoting and maintaining patient health throughout the healthcare continuum. Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting thorough health assessments and identifying health characteristics.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans while continuously evaluating care outcomes.
  • Working autonomously or in collaboration with the healthcare team to manage patient care across various settings.
  • Adhering to the Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, lift, or walk for extended periods.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in oncology services, including laboratory testing, examination, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Ability to make rounds in hospital systems and report to covering physicians.
  • Experience in triaging patient calls and providing consultations.
  • Performing physical exams and ordering necessary laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Administering medications and educating patients on health maintenance and illness prevention.
  • Maintaining and reviewing patient records and participating in professional development activities.
Education:
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Practitioner.
  • Completion of an approved Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Acute Care certification is required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience plus two years as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • At least one year of experience in an oncology department or clinic.
  • Current licensure as an ANP or FNP and registered nurse.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of professional nursing theories and practices.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and oncology-related terminology.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Working Conditions:
The role involves a combination of exam rooms and medical offices, with potential exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions typical in an oncology clinic environment.
