Role Overview

The Physician Assistant will play a crucial role in promoting and sustaining patient health throughout the healthcare continuum. Responsibilities include conducting thorough health evaluations, identifying health characteristics, formulating treatment strategies, initiating appropriate care, and continuously assessing care outcomes in accordance with established standards. The role requires independent judgment and collaboration with the healthcare team to manage patient care across various settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments and manage care in both office and hospital environments.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Perform physical examinations and document medical histories accurately.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to inform treatment plans.
  • Administer medications and injections in compliance with regulations.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with healthcare practices.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to engage in prolonged periods of sitting, standing, lifting, or walking.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
  • Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience and two years as a nurse practitioner.
  • Experience in oncology is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse and certification as an ANP or FNP.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of nursing theories, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and understanding oncology terminology.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and establish a safe working environment.
