Job Overview

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Position: Help Desk Technician with expertise in System Administration and Networking

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

Role Summary:

We are in search of a proficient Help Desk Technician who possesses a solid background in System Administration, Networking, and Firewall management. The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering technical assistance to users, overseeing the company's network and systems framework, managing firewalls, and ensuring the integrity of our security and access control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver first-line technical support to users regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and hardware components.
  • Monitor and sustain the company’s network and systems architecture, including servers, firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Formulate and enforce network security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify and rectify network and system performance challenges.
  • Ensure systems are updated with the latest security patches.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network and system configurations and modifications.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to users.
  • Assess new technologies and propose enhancements to existing infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, and routing.
  • Basic proficiency in PHP, encompassing scripting and web application development.
  • Familiarity with MySQL database management, including querying and basic administration.
  • Understanding of Linux operating systems, including command-line navigation and basic system administration.
  • Awareness of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its primary services, such as EC2 and S3.
  • Experience with firewall technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Relevant certifications such as A+, Network+, CCNA, or Security+ are advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
