Position: Help Desk Technician with expertise in System Administration and Networking
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Position Summary:
We are in search of a proficient Help Desk Technician with experience in System Administration, Networking, and Firewall management. The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering technical assistance to users, overseeing the maintenance of our network and systems, managing firewall configurations, and ensuring the security of our access control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
- Monitor and manage the company's network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Develop and enforce network security protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with various departments to troubleshoot and enhance network and system performance.
- Ensure systems are updated with the latest security patches.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and changes.
- Provide training and ongoing support to end-users.
- Assess new technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements to existing systems.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, and routing.
- Basic understanding of PHP for scripting and web application development.
- Knowledge of MySQL database management, including querying and administration.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line operations.
- Awareness of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its primary services.
- Experience with firewall technologies and network monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications such as A+, Network+, CCNA, or Security+ are advantageous.
