Role Responsibilities:
As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will:
1. Execute objectives outlined in the Individualized Treatment Plans crafted for each child by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Autism Specialist.
2. Gather and analyze data on the child's performance for all targets addressed during sessions.
3. Build a strong rapport with families and children to enhance the social validity of interventions while upholding professional boundaries.
4. Achieve or surpass the required billable hours, ensuring a minimum of 5 hours billed per day and 75% of hours worked billed monthly.
5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of each session, adhering to industry best practices and payor requirements.
6. Provide coverage in other classrooms during scheduled indirect time or in instances of cancellations.
7. Keep RBT audit logs to ensure that 5% of total implementation is supervised by a BCBA/BCaBA in accordance with BACB guidelines.
8. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding client needs and treatment strategies.
9. Exhibit excellent customer service skills while interacting with diverse individuals with varying needs in a timely manner.
10. Implement best practice interventions in ABA therapy as specified in the individualized treatment plan for each child.
11. Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes interdisciplinary team support and therapeutic best practices.
12. Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to seek solutions and implement optimal plans.
13. Cultivate relationships with team members to collaboratively address challenges.
14. Adapt to provide billable services while maintaining focus amidst interruptions or distractions.
15. Exhibit reliability by adhering to scheduled appointments and completing assigned tasks within designated deadlines with minimal supervision.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain client materials, ensure cleanliness in classrooms and other high-touch areas, and assist Outpatient Therapy staff as directed during scheduled indirect time.
2. Engage in outreach efforts to the public and medical community by attending events, networking, and contributing to marketing materials.
3. Participate in innovative practices and share knowledge and skills to expand into new areas of practice and development.
