Customer Service Responsibilities:

Responds to incoming calls and welcomes customers visiting the store. Manages multiple customer inquiries simultaneously while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.

Assists clients in selecting products by asking insightful questions and actively listening to discern their needs. Provides support with system or product troubleshooting and addresses technical inquiries. Suggests alternative or substitute products to fulfill customer requirements.

Conducts research and sources products for clients utilizing various tools, including point-of-sale systems, catalogs, websites, and industry contacts.

Processes sales orders through the point-of-sale system for invoicing or cash transactions. Handles customer returns and warranty claims in accordance with company policies.

Promptly follows up on all customer inquiries for information, quotes, and delivery timelines. Proactively communicates with clients regarding any anticipated delays or issues with their orders.

Builds strong working relationships and rapport with customers, greeting regular clients by name.

Maintains high standards of cleanliness and presentation in the showroom through stocking, housekeeping, and display creation.

Addresses customer complaints and disputes in a timely and professional manner, balancing customer needs with business objectives.

Adheres to company pricing and credit policies.

Sales Responsibilities:

Prepares and issues sales quotes in line with company guidelines. Follows up on quotes to secure sales.

Educates customers and prospects about the diverse range of products available and the advantages of shopping at Johnstone Supply.

Enhances customer satisfaction and store profitability by proactively suggesting additional items and promotions that may interest customers.

Identifies and communicates sales leads to outside sales personnel and management.

Promotes surplus, sale, discounted, and obsolete inventory to customers to maintain optimal inventory levels. Reports unexpected fluctuations in product demand and inventory to purchasing or management.

General Responsibilities:

Maintains knowledge of new and existing products and inventory by participating in training sessions, studying catalogs and websites, and seeking insights from experienced staff and factory representatives.

Assists with receiving, shipping, and general warehouse operations.

Is organized and maintains accurate records.

Completes all transactions and necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
