Position Overview:

Arcadis is on the lookout for a Fire Protection Engineer to bolster our Design and Engineering division across the United States, engaging in a variety of stimulating projects.

In this role, you will collaborate within the fire protection discipline team, managing multiple simultaneous projects through various stages including proposals, design, and construction. Your responsibilities will encompass advancing design initiatives and making informed design choices. Additionally, you may assist in proposal and business development activities, collaborating with project teams, senior and junior engineers, project managers, and clients on diverse projects spanning commercial, industrial, and municipal/government sectors. This position is primarily remote; however, candidates must reside within a reasonable distance from an airport to facilitate client meetings in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess project-level expertise in fire alarm systems, smoke control, fire suppression, and related design, with the capability to independently conduct code analysis, calculations, and other pertinent decisions under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Lead design teams in creating construction-ready drawing packages, ensuring inter-discipline coordination.
  • Design systems considering capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, safety, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Travel to project sites for engineering surveys, data collection for system assessments, system audits, and collaboration with client teams.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations such as NFPA, along with international standards.
  • Exhibit proficiency in design and modeling software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation tools.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection Engineering.
  • Licensure: Professional license (e.g., EIT/PE or GIT/PG) is required.
  • Preferred: NICET accreditation.
  • Experience in lean design and construction methodologies.
  • LEED Accredited Professional status is advantageous.

We provide seven paid holidays and up to two floating holidays per calendar year, along with 15 days of PTO that accrue annually. The salary range for this position is $84,400 - $142,140, with actual salaries varying based on factors such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
