The Legal and Compliance team plays a pivotal role in overseeing a diverse range of legal and regulatory issues that impact the organization.

Position Summary
The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is a crucial position designed to support various legal initiatives and ensure adherence to both Federal and State regulations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing support to cross-functional teams to identify compliance risks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the investigation and escalation of potential fraud cases.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research related to employment, marketing, mortgage, and business lending.
  • Facilitate data requests for regulatory reporting and external audits.
  • Support the compliance monitoring and testing framework.
  • Collaborate with different business units to implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of compliance training programs for new hires and existing employees.
  • Maintain and update company policies and procedures, ensuring they align with current regulations.
  • Review marketing materials to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist in addressing customer complaints and conducting investigations.
  • Perform risk assessments on new vendors during the procurement process.
  • Review straightforward contracts within the procurement framework.
  • Work alongside various teams to evaluate and refine processes and policies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • 1-3 years of experience in supporting a legal or compliance team is preferred.
  • Experience in the mortgage industry or compliance is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to draft clear and concise written summaries and recommendations.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in managing a high volume of correspondence.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations such as ECOA, FCRA, and BSA/AML is preferred.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
