Position Overview
Ball State University Libraries is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Archival Records Specialist. This role is essential in ensuring the preservation and accessibility of our extensive collections.

About the Role
The Archival Records Specialist will play a crucial role in analyzing, organizing, and cataloging the archival and historical documents of Ball State University. This position requires adherence to professional standards to enhance user access and discovery.

Key Responsibilities
1. Analyze and organize university archives and historical records for preservation and access.
2. Ensure compliance with professional standards in both print and digital formats.
3. Collaborate with colleagues to prepare archival materials for digitization and access in digital repositories.
4. Implement workflows for the accessioning of archival records and publications.
5. Provide reference services and specialized instruction on archival resources to students, faculty, and the public.
6. Train and supervise student assistants in processing materials for digitization.

Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in library science, records management, history, or a related field. Experience in archives, library, or records management is required. Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities are essential. Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in library or archival science, records management, history, or a related area is preferred. Experience with information technology applications in an archival or library setting is advantageous.
