The Technology Project Lead will oversee the strategic initiatives related to the enhancement of our client's internal software systems. The ideal candidate will maintain a collaborative relationship with their key counterpart, the IT Project Manager for Modernization. This role involves directing, managing, and regulating a development or enhancement program. The primary focus is to ensure the project is executed from inception to completion effectively.
Work will initially be conducted onsite, transitioning to a hybrid model thereafter.
The modernization efforts are extensive and will unfold over multiple phases, which include:
- Upgrading the licensing software systems.
- Translating the software into a new programming language.
- Merging two distinct systems into a unified application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for securing approval and sign-off on the program plan from customer representatives and all relevant stakeholders.
- Responsible for managing the program's scope and obtaining agreement on any changes with stakeholders.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and customer representatives.
- Direct the planning and scheduling of design work.
- Monitor and track the program's progress against the established plan.
- Act as the primary contact for all program-related inquiries and issue resolutions.
- Coordinate and present proposals to relevant agencies as required.
- Identify potential program risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
- Ensure that team leads adjust estimates as necessary.
- Proactively address issues and resolve conflicts with sensitivity.
- Facilitate the establishment of program standards and specific procedures with team leads.
- Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Capture and report essential program management metrics.
- Tailor and baseline all program templates as needed.
- Develop and promote the achievement of program service commitments and performance metrics.
- Ensure that tasks align with the strategic direction of the program and meet service commitments.
- Conduct final program management evaluations with stakeholders for approval upon completion.
- Communicate effectively with customers and software/hardware suppliers as appropriate.
- Identify and monitor issues throughout the program lifecycle.
- Balance workload among program members based on their capacity.
- Clearly communicate how team members' assignments contribute to program objectives.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale modernization projects.
- Willingness to work onsite initially.
