Position Overview

The Technology Program Manager will spearhead the initiatives related to the enhancement of our client's internal software systems. The ideal candidate will maintain a collaborative relationship with their primary counterpart, the IT Project Manager for Modernization. This role involves directing, overseeing, and managing a development or enhancement program. The primary duty of the Project Manager is to ensure the successful execution of the project from inception to completion.

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the program is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the established business, technical, and quality standards.

Initial work will be conducted onsite, transitioning to a hybrid model thereafter.

The modernization effort is an ongoing process, spanning multiple phases over the next few years, which includes:

  1. Upgrading the licensing software system
  2. Translating the software into a new programming language
  3. Integrating the two systems into a unified application

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the endorsement and approval of the program plan in collaboration with customer representatives and relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsible for managing the program's scope and securing agreement on any changes with customer representatives and stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customer representatives.
  • Oversee work planning and scheduling for design tasks.
  • Monitor and track program progress against the established plan.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all program-related inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate and present proposals to relevant agencies as required.
  • Identify program risks and develop strategies for mitigation, ensuring tracking to resolution.
  • Ensure team leads adjust estimates as necessary.
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues, resolving conflicts with sensitivity.
  • Facilitate the establishment of program standards and specific procedures with team leads.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures throughout the project.
  • Capture and report essential program management metrics.
  • Tailor and baseline all program templates as needed.
  • Develop and support the achievement of program service commitments and performance metrics.
  • Ensure that tasks deliver value and align with the strategic direction of the program.
  • Conduct final program management evaluation reviews with stakeholders for approval upon completion.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and software/hardware suppliers as necessary.
  • Identify and monitor issues throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Balance workload with the capacity of program members.
  • Communicate the relevance of team members' assignments to overall program objectives.

  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale modernization projects.
  • Willingness to work onsite as required.
