Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the discovery and acquisition of new business by leveraging established customer relationships and personal expertise to identify and evaluate opportunities that lead to significant revenue enhancement.
  • Oversee capture initiatives for critical engagements, identify gaps and emerging needs, evaluate and recommend collaboration partners, conduct market and economic assessments, perform business intelligence, formulate and implement structured capture strategies, and monitor competitor movements for each engagement.
  • Execute Business Development and Capture Management tasks for designated or recommended opportunities.
  • Set and achieve new business objectives, targets, and goals.
  • Craft comprehensive and actionable strategies and account plans that align with substantial corporate growth objectives.
  • Identify leads and new business prospects by leveraging previous relationships/accounts.
  • Devise and implement strategies and action plans to cultivate robust pipelines and ensure the achievement of sales performance targets.
  • Engage in planning, pipeline evaluations, solution formulation, pricing strategies, gate reviews, color team assessments, win theme development, and provide proposal writing and reviews as necessary.
  • Negotiate effective non-disclosure and teaming agreements for review and approval through Aretum Workflow.
  • Collaborate and occasionally lead the development of winning strategies and identify resources required to enhance win probabilities.
  • Work alongside various corporate divisions and business units to create necessary thought leadership, campaigns, or social media initiatives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction while expanding client business.
  • Coordinate strategy, approach, and deliverables with other essential stakeholders within the organization.
  • Maintain and uphold Aretum's reputation for quality, professionalism, ethical standards, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate technical writing capabilities, identify compelling themes and benefits for clients, and possess an understanding of price-to-win strategies.
  • Ensure that capture processes adhere to all corporate operations for capture and proposal development, including Gate Review Processes.
  • Collaborate with the HR/Recruiting department to develop job descriptions, recruit qualified personnel, and oversee employee training initiatives.
  • Ensure all Business Development and Capture activities are meticulously tracked in accordance with corporate processes.
  • Work in partnership with other enterprise resources to successfully execute growth strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant business or technical field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Federal Government capture and business development, particularly in an 'identify, capture, and close' environment. Must possess Federal experience in business development and capture.
  • Prior experience and established relationships with Federal clients such as the Department of Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy, Department of Commerce, Department of Education, and other civilian agencies.
  • Proven track record in identifying, qualifying, and securing large captures.
  • In-depth understanding of Federal contracting practices.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to Senior Leadership for Federal clients or peers.
  • Successful history of achieving business development and revenue objectives.
  • Experience navigating gate review processes as a business developer, capture manager, or proposal manager.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills; capable of supporting proposal submissions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in supporting successful proposals with a primary focus on technical solutions-based opportunities; knowledge of professional services is advantageous.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills; adept at managing a high volume of tasks.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentation expertise.
  • Experience with standardized proposal development tools, templates, and processes.
  • Strong proficiency in the Office 365 suite of software.
