Position Overview: Finance Team Lead

In the role of Finance Team Lead at LEAP, you will play a vital part in our finance team, ensuring effective management of the organization’s financial resources. This position involves overseeing critical initiatives within the Financial Department, delegating tasks, and providing mentorship to a small team of finance professionals. Strong communication and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to foster productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing financial data, recognizing trends, and making informed recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders in a manner that fosters collaboration and support.
  • Adaptability: Capacity to navigate the evolving financial landscape and adjust to new regulations and organizational priorities.
  • Financial Management Expertise: Experience in accounting principles and practices, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget.
  • Oversee all Accounts Receivable, including various income sources.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements and investment reports.
  • Implement and maintain the organization's capitalization policy.
  • Prepare financial statements for review by leadership.
  • Organize year-end financial documentation for audits.
  • Engage with industry financial standards through participation in relevant groups.

Position Details:

This is a full-time salaried position with potential for advancement into leadership roles. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend commitments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Required: Associate degree or higher in Business/Accounting (related experience may be considered).

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics.

Experience:

Required: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.

Preferred: 5 or more years of accounting experience within a nonprofit environment.
