Role Objective:
Deliver outstanding service to our customers and donors while ensuring a tidy and organized shopping environment. Accurately process each transaction.

- Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the dress code at all times.
- Effectively manage a personal cash drawer, including opening, closing, and balancing in accordance with Salvation Army cash handling procedures.
- Gain proficiency in the Point of Sale system to complete transactions efficiently within the first three months of employment.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace at the cash register and throughout the store, including cleaning, straightening, and restocking as needed.
- Exhibit a friendly demeanor by greeting customers and offering assistance.
- Comply with all Salvation Army policies regarding merchandise sales.
- Keep the sales floor stocked and display new merchandise to meet daily production goals.
- Availability for a flexible work schedule is required.

Compensation:
Hourly wage is $13.00.

Minimum Qualifications:
The qualifications listed below represent the minimum education, experience, certifications, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education: High School Diploma or currently pursuing.
Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding English for effective communication with customers, management, and colleagues.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with the Point of Sale system and other software utilized by The Salvation Army.
- Ability to provide accurate change.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, handle or feel, and communicate verbally. The employee frequently walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
This position is set in a retail environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The workspace may be dusty and experience temperature variations based on weather conditions. Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather. This is a Full-Time or Part-Time position that requires weekend and evening availability.
