This role is pivotal in supporting the Director of Asset Management and ensuring the seamless execution of maintenance operations across various sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the formulation of the company's asset maintenance strategy and program.
- Overseeing effective short-term and long-term maintenance scheduling and planning.
- Collaborating with maintenance and operational teams across all business units and external contractors to provide direct maintenance assistance.
- Enhancing the efficiency of maintenance resources through the development of a robust maintenance plan.
- Adjusting the maintenance plan to address variations in resource availability, completed tasks, or additional work requirements.
- Preparing, maintaining, and updating job plans for scheduled tasks.
- Ensuring that preventive maintenance services are scheduled according to established intervals and standards, with timely execution.
- Identifying necessary resources for planned tasks, including parts, tools, equipment, materials, and work procedures.
- Analyzing data from oil samples, operating hour reports, mechanics' feedback, and OEM guidelines to propose and schedule component replacements.
- Providing support to maintenance team leaders with data entry, backlog management, and work order oversight.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance functions.
- Monitoring warranty programs to ensure timely claims and resolution of warranty issues.
- Assisting in the development of critical path plans for major maintenance shutdowns.
- Participating in regular meetings to review and optimize daily and weekly work schedules.
- Creating and maintaining accurate data within the ERP system.
- Conducting training sessions, both on-site and via video conferencing, for new applications or staff at new job locations.
- Implementing strategies to enhance maintenance performance, including involvement in training and development initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive performance dashboards for each site based on maintenance activities.
- Conducting on-site audits of the maintenance program and fleet to ensure adherence to maintenance standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably eMaint.
- Familiarity with J.D. Edwards and ReportsNow is advantageous.
- 3-5 years of experience in mobile maintenance planning within the scrap and heavy equipment sectors.
- Proven ability to diagnose issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Capability to read and interpret equipment service manuals.
- Demonstrated self-direction, teamwork, and leadership qualities.
- Willingness and flexibility for occasional overnight travel.
