Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at The Watergate Hotel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen department and ensuring the highest quality and consistency in our food preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement menus for our all-day dining and specialty restaurants, working closely with the Executive Chef and Restaurant General Manager.
  • Manage labor, payroll, and inventory costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Source high-quality products and manage vendor relationships to ensure continuous availability and quality of ingredients.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of culinary professionals, providing coaching, counseling, and feedback to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Monitor kitchen maintenance and ensure proper maintenance schedules are adhered to, reporting any issues to the engineering team.
  • Communicate effectively with the Restaurant General Manager and other department heads to ensure seamless operations and open communication.
  • Manage workplace safety initiatives and provide ongoing training to the culinary team.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a sous chef in a luxury hotel and/or fine dining establishment.
  • Proven experience in menu development, labor management, and inventory control.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse team.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, with experience using MICROS, Time Saver, and MS Office.
  • Prior experience managing and leading a diverse team of culinary professionals.
