Position Overview:
The Financial Controller will oversee and manage the company's accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:


Establish and maintain a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures; implement controls over financial transactions to mitigate risks.

Supervise the preparation of regular financial reports; ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in the reported results.

Suggest performance benchmarks for the company.

Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes to adhere to established timelines.

Conduct detailed reviews of monthly reports, investigating discrepancies to ensure accuracy and clarity of unusual items.

Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation for the annual audit.

Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

Perform additional related duties as required.

Work closely with Service Center Leaders to address inquiries related to Accounts Payable, Sales and Use Tax, and Financial Reports.


Collaborate with IT, Credit/Cash Applications, and the General Ledger Group to ensure that systems feeding the general ledger are properly maintained, resulting in accurate financial reporting.


Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting

10+ years of experience in private accounting, with 1-2 years in public accounting, or a combination thereof, including at least 5 years in a management role preferred.

Prior experience leading monthly closing cycles in SAP.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts.

Experience in preparing financial statements, managing general ledger functions, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, and executing month-end closing processes.

Effective communication skills to ensure that users are informed of non-standard accounting entries prior to posting.

Proven capability to learn and utilize various accounting systems and reporting software.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, adapting quickly to changing demands.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, and data formatting.

Preferred Skills:
CPA designation or a master's degree in business administration is advantageous.

Experience in implementing automation solutions to enhance the Accounts Payable process (RPA, AI, EDI, etc.).

Experience in optimizing payment processing activities for increased efficiency (credit cards, virtual cards, travel cards, ACH, etc.).

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit for extended periods. The majority of the workday (85%+) is spent at a desk.

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds consistently.

Frequent use of a keyboard is necessary.

Occasional climbing of stairs may be required.

Most of the work is performed in an office setting during standard business hours.
