We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to oversee financial operations.

This position will operate under a hybrid model, requiring both in-office and remote work.

The successful candidate will report directly to the CFO.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in distribution or wholesale sectors within companies generating between $500 million and $1.5 billion in revenue.

Role Overview:

The Controller will be responsible for planning and directing the accounting functions of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Branch Sales and Operations leaders, as well as Corporate Process Leaders.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing accounting team.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive system of accounting procedures, implementing controls to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the preparation of regular financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Suggest performance benchmarks for the organization.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of monthly reports to verify accuracy and clarify any unusual items.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation for annual audits.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Assist Service Center Leaders with inquiries related to Accounts Payable, Sales and Use Tax, and Financial Reports.
  • Work alongside IT, Credit/Cash Applications, and GL Group to maintain accurate financial data.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred qualifications include a CPA or MBA in Accounting.
  • Experience in implementing automation solutions to enhance Accounts Payable processes.
  • A minimum of 10 years in private accounting, with 1-2 years in public accounting or a combination, including at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Proficiency in leading monthly close cycles using SAP.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation, general ledger functions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Effective communication skills to inform users of non-standard accounting entries prior to posting.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize various accounting systems and reporting software.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities effectively.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data formatting.
  • Experience in optimizing payment processing activities.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary range of $150,000 to $180,000, plus bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
