AVP of Small Commercial Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AVP of Small Commercial to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for crafting the strategy for our Small Commercial business, prioritizing and executing management processes, and overseeing technology projects focused on executing our SMB strategic roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the strategy for our Small Commercial business, driving underwriting results and MGA revenue and profit.
  • Lead a high-performing team, empowering and developing talent to achieve business objectives.
  • Partner with Technology and Operations to ensure efficient and world-class underwriting, and work closely with Claims and Compliance to continually risk mitigate.
  • Serve as one of Velocity's core leaders, driving underwriting excellence across the firm and consistently meeting business objectives.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a leader in underwriting/insurance.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of underwriting theories and practices.
  • 5 years of management and leadership skills, demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
