Position Overview:

The Asset Protection Supervisor (APS) is tasked with supporting the business objectives of their designated stores and aligning with the Corporate Asset Protection strategy by providing leadership, expertise, and training aimed at minimizing inventory loss and controllable expenses. Success in this role requires the consistent demonstration of key competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Oversee and communicate the overall Asset Protection/Loss Prevention strategy and loss reduction initiatives within the store; develop and implement asset protection plans and loss prevention programs.
  • Team Development: Enforce company policies and standards, manage the recruitment and onboarding of asset protection personnel, and provide training and performance feedback to staff; ensure that loss prevention strategies are actionable, measurable, and impactful.
  • Building Relationships: Foster open communication with both asset protection and store associates, as well as central and corporate executives; cultivate positive business relationships.
  • Implementing Action Plans: Drive the company's loss prevention action plan and store-specific strategies across sales and support teams.
  • Compliance Audits: Conduct audits to ensure adherence to all operational and merchandise security standards, including cash handling, fine jewelry, and receiving processes; collaborate with store leadership to implement necessary changes.
  • Risk Identification: Recognize and report shortage-related risks stemming from non-compliance with receiving and inventory standards.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Utilize support process standards to enhance productivity and optimize support payroll.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Educate and implement emergency preparedness and physical security measures for associates and customers.
  • Safety Culture: Lead the store's safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety programs; analyze customer and employee incidents to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Theft and Fraud Awareness: Promote awareness of theft and fraud prevention strategies among sales and support teams.
  • Policy Enforcement: Responsible for the administration and enforcement of asset protection policies and standards.
  • Investigative Collaboration: Work with Central Asset Protection to investigate and resolve internal theft cases.
  • Reporting: Promptly report all non-productive detainments to the appropriate Asset Protection personnel.
  • Administrative Skills: Develop and execute store loss prevention plans; manage internal investigations and external case management; maintain adherence to payroll, expense, and capital budgets; effectively juggle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Networking: Build relationships with local law enforcement, mall management, other retailers, and legal advisors.
  • Safe Environment: Ensure a secure environment for both customers and associates.

Qualifications:

We welcome candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

3-5 years of direct experience in asset protection or loss prevention.

Communication Skills:

  • Exceptional communication abilities - capable of articulating site-specific ideas and initiatives.
  • Adept at collaborating with all management levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective follow-up capabilities.

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with physical security measures, including alarms, EAS, CCTV, and access control.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions and implement necessary changes.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • A collaborative team player.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, communicate, reach, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of technology, including computers and handheld devices, to perform job functions.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly.
