Position Overview:
The City of Oregon City is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Utility Maintenance Specialist I or II within our Sewer/Storm Division. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the community and enhance the City's infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
Utility Maintenance Specialists are responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction, repair, and upkeep of storm water management and wastewater collection systems. Duties may include:

  • Executing general labor tasks to support the installation and maintenance of public infrastructure.
  • Operating hand and light-duty construction tools and equipment.
  • Identifying necessary repairs and conducting routine preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Participating in on-call duties to respond to urgent situations.
  • Assisting with snow and ice removal as required.
  • Documenting work progress and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications:
Utility Maintenance Specialist I:
Candidates should possess a basic understanding of construction methods and public works maintenance. A high school diploma and two years of relevant experience are typically required. A valid Class A driver's license with an N endorsement is necessary within one year of employment.

Utility Maintenance Specialist II:
This role requires a more advanced skill set, including four years of varied utility construction and repair experience. A valid Class A driver's license with N endorsement is also required.

Physical Requirements:
The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift and carry weights up to 75 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks in various weather conditions.
