Public Works Utility Worker II

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Works Utility Worker II to join our team at the City of Tigard. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will play a critical role in maintaining the city's wastewater and stormwater systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain catch basins, manholes, and mainlines in our stormwater system.
  • Perform spot repairs and maintenance in various wastewater and storm locations.
  • Assist citizens with questions regarding the sanitary system and private system connections.
  • Clean both sanitary and stormwater collection systems using Vactor combination hydro cleaner trucks.
  • Conduct video inspections of wastewater and stormwater systems.
  • Participate in restoration work in drainage areas to eliminate and mitigate erosion.
  • Assist other divisions during weather events and emergencies to ensure exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
  • Two (2) years of related experience in construction, repair, operation, and maintenance of underground utilities.
  • Class A CDL required within six months of hire.
