Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director, Center for Excellence in Advocacy at Stetson University. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Center's advocacy programs, managing the daily activities of the Advocacy Concentration, and working closely with the Director of the Center for Excellence in Advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Directors of Trial Team, Moot Court, and Dispute Resolution in their coaching and mentoring efforts.
  • Manage the Advocacy Concentration, including reviewing applications, monitoring pro bono hours, and approving required paper topics.
  • Support the Center's initiatives on campus, including advocacy board try-outs, admitted student events, and intramural competitions.
  • Assist in planning, hosting, and presenting at Center-sponsored conferences and events.
  • Manage regional, national, and international competitions hosted by the Advocacy Center.
  • Maintain the Advocacy Center's social media accounts and update the Center's webpages regularly.
  • Assist in the development and administration of professional development courses and certificates sponsored by the Center.
  • Provide assistance and oversight for operations associated with Student Body involvement in advocacy programs, competitions, and Center activities.
Requirements
  • J.D. degree required; one to three years of experience preferred.
  • Experience in developing and running programs, or the willingness and skill set necessary to develop such expertise.
  • Understanding of working in a nonprofit environment, with exposure to higher education a plus.
  • Demonstrated ethical behavior, professionalism, and leadership and management abilities.
  • Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including maturity and diplomacy.
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities successfully.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Flexibility and commitment to periodically work long and/or irregular hours.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
Work Environment

Work duties performed primarily in a temperature-controlled office, with frequent student interaction. Lifting occasionally up to 20 lbs. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
