Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Children's Services department as an Executive Director. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in early childhood education, management, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all departments of Parc Center for Disabilities Children's Services.
  • Oversee management of all activities, curriculum, communication, and events for children and parents.
  • Ensure parent/teacher conferences are being held and are effective for all involved.
  • Responsible for maintaining full enrollment of mission-appropriate students in DLC and maximizing service levels in Family Focus and Caregiver Relief.
  • Actively participate in increasing enrollment and referrals, cultivating relationships with community partners that promotes increased referrals for services.
  • Lead effort of opening and licensing for new Children's Center, ensuring best practices, innovative approaches, and exceptional services.
  • Mentor and coach all Children's Services management staff in all aspects of leadership and department operations.
  • Collaborate with Children's Services and organizational departments (Family Focus, Caregiver Relief, Transportation, Accounting, HR, and IT) and proactively communicate with Executive Leadership pertinent information in a timely manner.
  • Represent and advocate for Discovery Learning Center at Parc Center for Disabilities in the community, at conferences, and with Funding Agencies (Early Learning Coalition and Juvenile Welfare Board) and various community partners in a professional and highly competent way.
  • Maintain compliance with all requirements of the Florida Food Program, including reviewing bids and contracts, monthly reporting, meal costs, variety, quality, and counts.
  • Liaison and collaborate with onsite Culinary Management Team to provide fresh and healthy meals and snacks to children.
  • Maintain compliance with all funding agencies and grantors, including but not limited to JWB, ELC, VPK.
  • Assist in preparation of program budgets and be accountable for financial performance of department.
  • Monitor purchases of supplies and equipment so that adequate supplies are always available for teachers and classrooms.
  • Ensure adequate team member scheduling for ratio compliance, oversee and approve all direct report PTO requests, and approve timecards in company HRIS.
  • Develop and provide a detailed onboarding and orientation program for new team members.
  • Plan and facilitate regular training sessions for all Children's Services staff for continuing education and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure in-service trainings are meaningful and relevant.
  • Work with the People Team and outside professionals to provide appropriate learning and development opportunities.
  • In conjunction with Parc Center for Disabilities Operations team, manage the health and safety of all children and team members in the Center.
  • Schedule and plan annual calendar of safety drills (fire, hurricane, active shooter, etc.).
  • Ensure all Center program documentation, including accurate attendance, is reviewed, and submitted monthly for quality and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Multiple years of experience working with intellectually and developmentally disabled children, ages 0-5 strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field or highly regulated and complex industry; previous early childhood education experience required.
  • Direct experience with Pinellas County Licensing regulations and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Special Certifications, Registrations, Licenses or Other Requirements
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • Florida Directors Credential required or ability to obtain Credential within 6 months.
  • American Sign Language (ASL) certification or experience a plus.
  • Be physically, visually, and auditorily aware of the cognitive, social, and physical needs of our participants.
  • Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
