Job Summary

The Director of Marketing and Athletics will be responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of annual marketing plans for the intercollegiate athletics programs, focusing on increasing attendance and enhancing the game day experience. This includes developing comprehensive marketing plans for all athletics programs, working in conjunction with Abilene Christian Sports Properties to implement and fulfill all corporate sponsorships, and building relationships with campus partners to collaborate on home events and enhance the student experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the creation and execution of annual marketing plans for the intercollegiate athletics programs, focusing on increasing attendance and enhancing the game day experience.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans for all athletics programs, applying best practices to elevate the game day experience.
  • Work in conjunction with Abilene Christian Sports Properties to implement and fulfill all corporate sponsorships.
  • Build relationships with campus partners to collaborate on home events and enhance the student experience.
  • Provide leadership and direction for marketing staff, including recruiting, training, and supervising marketing assistants, student interns, and student volunteers.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field, and have two to three years of experience in athletic marketing/fan experiences. The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to establish and nurture strong relationships with students and members of the community. A high degree of self-motivation and organization is required, as well as a basic understanding of college athletics at the NCAA Division I level.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred, as well as experience managing student staff and knowledge in creating marketing collateral and/or concepts for an athletic department. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is also a plus.

Physical Demands

The Director of Marketing and Athletics will be required to endure long hours and extended periods of time typing on a computer, as well as extended periods of walking and climbing stairs. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and possible exposure to weather extremes are also required.
